It was with deep sadness that we learned of the passing of Alain Gingras, on Wednesday, May 15, at the age of 63, after a long battle with illness. Alain left a lasting impression on all those who came into contact with him.

A lover of motorcycles, caravanning and the great outdoors, Alain was a true road enthusiast. His rides through the rural landscapes of North America were a source of wonder and freedom for him.

His outspokenness and honesty were refreshing. He didn’t mince words, but he always did so with kindness. Alain had that rare ability to say it like it is, without artifice or deflection. He was a genuine man, and that’s what made him so special.

Alain worked at the Fédération du personnel de soutien scolaire (FPSS-CSQ) as a labor relations advisor for over 20 years, dedicating his time and energy to defending the rights and interests of members. He was a spokesperson for several school support staff negotiating teams. He retired in 2022.

We will never forget Alain Gingras, and his legacy will live on in the memories we shared with him.

Our most sincere thoughts are with his family and loved ones.
