Taking Action Against Violence in Schools

6 October 2025
Violence, in all its forms, has no place in schools. Yet, it remains a reality and affects students, school support staff1, and all education personnel.
Faced with this continuing concern, efforts are continuing to denounce and address it. The school network federations2 and the Centrale des syndicats du Québec (CSQ) have produced a guide for preventing and responding to violence against education personnel.
This guide (in French only, the English guide will be available soon) provides clear guidelines, concrete tools, and courses of action to prevent, recognize, and effectively respond to situations of violence in schools. A webpage has also been created to bring together all relevant information.
This guide aims to support schools in their prevention, intervention, and support efforts for both staff and students.
