Parental rights information evening – school support staff
24 October 2024
The Centrale des syndicats du Québec (CSQ) is organizing an information evening for members of the Fédération du personnel de soutien scolaire (FPSS-CSQ). This virtual meeting, in French, will take place on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, at 6:30 p.m.
To register, complete this form before 4 p.m. on Thursday, November 7.
This training is aimed at familiarizing you with the Quebec Parental Insurance Plan (QPIP) and helping you to fully understand the rights and obligations related to parental leave in your collective agreement. It’s an excellent opportunity to ask questions and learn more about this subject.
Did you know that…
- The links and interactions between your collective agreement and the QPIP are sometimes complex?
- In certain cases, preventive leaves or closely spaced pregnancies can have an impact on the amount of your QPIP benefits?
- A drop in your employment income during a period of unemployment, or job insecurity in general, can also have negative effects on your benefits?
- Your CSQ union can tell you about ways to reduce or cancel these negative effects (articles 31.1 or 31.2 of the QPIP, for example, or starting the benefits period early)?
- Your collective agreement (like the Labour Standards Act) allows the father to take up to three separate periods of leave in the year following the birth of his child?
