Nature of the work*<\/strong><\/p>\r\n

The principal and customary work of an employee in this class of employment consists in performing various tasks, such as the fabrication, conversion or repair of equipment parts, machine tools, maintenance equipment and heating system components as well as machining the necessary parts.<\/p>\r\n

Characteristic functions<\/strong><\/p>\r\n

The employee in this class of employment maintains and repairs machine tools, such as milling machines, lathes and drilling machines.<\/p>\r\n

He or she uses sketches, models and plans; he or she establishes the detailed operation sequence; he or she prepares templates in order to machine very low tolerance parts for precision adjustments.<\/p>\r\n

He or she machines, converts, drills, grinds and adjusts the various parts necessary for the repairs and sets up bearings, mandrels and crankshafts. He or she repairs gears and distributor shafts.<\/p>\r\n

In the shop, he or she may repair maintenance equipment, such as sanders, floor cleaners and vacuum cleaners.<\/p>\r\n

Moreover, he or she repairs heating and ventilation system components, such as pumps, compressors and ventilators.<\/p>\r\n

On occasion, he or she may be required to coordinate the work of less experienced or nonspecialized workmen.<\/p>\r\n

If need be, he or she performs any other related duty.<\/p>\r\n

Required qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\r\n

Schooling or qualification certificate<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Hold a Diploma of Vocational Studies in Machining Technics or in any other appropriate specialty for the class of employment or a diploma or an attestation of studies recognized as equivalent by the competent authority.\r\nor\r\nHold an equivalent valid qualification certificate for the class of employment issued by a recognized body.<\/p>\r\n
