Nature of the work*<\/strong><\/p>\r\n

The principal and customary work of an employee in this class of employment consists in performing tasks, such as painting, varnishing, dying and other similar work on the exterior or interior surfaces of buildings, metal frames and furnishings.<\/p>\r\n

Characteristic functions<\/strong><\/p>\r\n

The employee in this class of employment carries out work related to the repair and preparation of surfaces to be painted. He or she may fill in the joints of wallboards and repair cracks in plaster.<\/p>\r\n

He or she prepares and mixes paint, varnish, stain and primer and covers surfaces with these substances.<\/p>\r\n

He or she may be required to hang wallpaper and other similar materials.<\/p>\r\n

He or she is responsible for cleaning and maintaining the instruments and tools he or she uses.<\/p>\r\n

He or she sets up or has set up the scaffolding required.<\/p>\r\n

On occasion, he or she may be required to coordinate the work of less experienced or nonspecialized workmen.<\/p>\r\n

If need be, he or she performs any other related duty.<\/p>\r\n

Required qualifications<\/strong><\/p>\r\n

Schooling and experience or qualification certificate<\/span><\/p>\r\n

Hold a Diploma of Vocational Studies in Commercial and Residential Painting or in any other appropriate specialty for the class of employment or a diploma or an attestation of studies recognized as equivalent by the competent authority, and have three (3) years of pertinent experience.\r\nor\r\nHold an equivalent valid qualification certificate for the class of employment issued by a recognized body.<\/p>\r\n
