I am entitled if I am retired?

Retirees will also receive the salary adjustments to which they are entitled.  The notion of retired person is not written in the agreement, the terms used are “the employee, whose employment ended between the date of the start of the retroactivity and the payment of the retroactivity”, which is the case for retired people. Make sure that the school board or centre has your updated contact details (address and phone number).

The retroactive adjustments also apply to your fringe benefits (REEGOP, EI, etc.). The adjustments therefore have an effect on the calculation of your pension (if you are retired) since you should have been earning amount X rather than amount Y in 2010, as well as for all other years up to the time of the payment.  These amounts were not taken into consideration when your pension was calculated, so it is quite possible that your pension will be adjusted in line with the adjustment that will be paid retroactive to December 31, 2010.

It is not possible to stagger these payments over several periods.  There will only be one payment.
