A big WOW!

A big WOW!

As the first day of reopening comes to an end in schools across Quebec, I cannot help but be amazed by the work all school support staff put in to get the doors open on time.

The FPSS-CSQ is made up of 30,000 members in 81 job classes.  In only two months, we managed to first shut down the schools, then set up emergency daycare services, and finally reconfigure and reopen the schools.

When I think back on all the work accomplished in the last eight weeks, I can hardly believe it.  We were asked to do the impossible and we did it.  I am as proud of school support staff as I am impressed.

I am well aware that the game is not yet won.   But so far, we have used our creativity, originality and resourcefulness to adapt each community to its realities.  We have done all this consistently respecting distancing instructions and mindful of the well-being of the children.

Once again, we are showing that WE are also education!
