Recovery of School Belongings in the Estrie and Montreal Postponed

29 March 2020

Deputy Education Minister Éric Blackburn has sent a letter to school board administrators in the Estrie and Montreal regions. Since both these regions have become risk areas, students will not be permitted to recover their school belongings at this time.

Previous directives stated that school boards have until April 17 to do this. But there are several factors that need to be considered, including social distancing, disinfection measures, and the limited number of people allowed in and outside the school. In the other regions of Quebec, school boards will be announcing procedures probably this week.

This, however, will not be possible at the moment for the Estrie and Montreal regions.
