Following a discussion that took place on Friday between CSQ President Sonia Éthier, the Executive Committee of the FPSS-CSQ and Pascal Poulin, Director of Labour Relations at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, it was agreed that the FPSS-CSQ would encourage its members to collaborate in setting up daycare services that would allow nursing staff and first responders to be able to work to deal with the current pandemic 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
The terms agreed to for our members working in the various daycare centers that will be open as well as janitors providing maintenance are as follows:
- Members willing to work will do so on a voluntary basis;
- Positions will be allocated based on seniority, in accordance with the collective agreement;
- Employees working in or for these daycare centers will be paid double time.
The Federation has yet to receive any instructions regarding the opening of administrative centers. Members who have any questions about any of this should contact their union since administrative centers are currently autonomous with regard to their decisions related to the pandemic.
We will keep you informed as soon as we receive any additional information.
